Blogging is basically writing and publishing information, data, thoughts, and research on the internet. In the early days of the internet, there was not so much video content available as it is today when people learned about a subject by reading blogs. There are various types of websites on the internet like e-commerce, portfolio, government, private, various organizations, products, business, banking, etc. But blog sites are different from them.
A blog site is simply a website whose main purpose is to provide information to people through written content. The writer writes an article based on a specific topic and the reader searches the internet for that topic and reads the article to gather the necessary information. Blogging is for whom?
Can everyone do blogging? Not at all... Blogging is only for thoughtful and patient people. It is like growing a fruit tree from a seedling to a tree, as time goes by it will give fruit. Another trait you need to have to be a successful blogger is a lot of patience. Blogging is not an overnight success. If you are thinking of making money overnight like most Bengalis then I would say blogging is not for you. At least 6 months should be worked here for free. Here you have to hone your skills which will not get any value before six months. Come into the blogging field with this mindset or you'll lose interest after a few days and run away.

Is it better to blog in English or Bengali?
I would like to say something about this from my experience, listen carefully. In 2024 Google has given some guidelines for blogging and blogging has become very difficult. Google wants to suggest only the best articles in search results. I am very good at English, but if I want to write about any topic, if I search Google for that topic first, I can understand that I cannot write better than them.
I can write uniquely in Bengali but not in English. Another important thing is Niche which means the topic/category your blog site exists on. Competition in the English language is so high that you have to write on smaller and smaller topics and you can't get out of it.
There is no such problem in the Bengali language, not many people search Google and read blogs in the Bengali language, there is competition, but if it is updated, it can be easily ranked in Google. So you don't have to focus on specific topics in the Bengali language.
In Bangladesh, people search Google for cricket during cricket, sometimes smartphone prices, sometimes Facebook status, sometimes Bengali novels, sometimes various applications, jobs, online income, etc. If you focus on only one topic, you won't get many visitors or traffic to your site. You should write articles for all categories on your site so that all types of readers come to your site.
If you only write about a niche or topic that will make your site visible to a very small number of visitors searching for that topic, you should cover all categories of readers across the country. Bangladeshis collect more information from YouTube than blog sites which is opposite abroad. They prefer to read articles rather than video content. Because videos may contain unnecessary information and take more time.
Hope you understand. In English, your competitors are native English speakers. If you can mix honey between words in Bengali, they can mix honey in English. So consider before making decisions.
How to open a blog site?
Blog sites can basically be opened on two platforms. One is Blogger which is a free service of Google and another is WordPress where you have to buy domain and hosting to make a website. Those who have experience with WordPress can use WordPress by spending money. You will get some extra benefits and if you are a beginner and don't have much idea about these things then Blogger is better for you and later you can switch to WordPress. Blogger is enough for blogging alone. If your website has other purposes like payment, shopping, business, service, etc. then you will not have it in Blogger.
My site is built on Blogger and I just bought a custom domain and added it. Custom domains give your site a professional look. Because the free blogger domain provided by Google has (.blogspot) added at the end.
It is better to go free instead of spending money on hosting for blogging because there are so many stylish themes available for bloggers today that you will never think that it is a blogger site.
